Stochastic orderings in auction theory
N. Torrado
Motivated by the use of auctions in Internet, as for instance, in eBay and Amazon, the study of expected revenues in auctions has gained interest in recent years.
In this talk, we present recent research on comparisons of expected revenues in second-price auctions with no reserve price. In particular, we study if expected revenues depend on the number of bidders.
Keywords: second-price auctions, stochastic comparisons, information revelation
